EPHEMERA: Large collection of letters, documents and related paper, now separated in reasonable lots and binders, having descended to persons related to James Earl Ray concerning his later life struggles, including love letters to and from his wife and those to specific family members as well as to various legal entities, some written while he was in jail, including copies of Ray’s letter to Jesse Jackson and Reverend Jesse Jackson’s letter to President Jimmy Carter from Brushy Mountain Penitentiary. Dewitt Clinton signed 1807 letter. Robert Frost photo and his 1954 Christmas signature. Separate binders of forty to sixty older signed photos of celebrities and people of note, including early photos of Cassius Clay and George Foreman. Binders of 18th and 19th c. ads and documents. Lot of Civil War era Gray, ME deeds and family papers and well-drawn and initial-signed street sketches. 1890 Blanche Bruce, born a slave, signed document. Binder of actor and American personality signed photos and cards. Large lot of 18th and 19th c. New England and U.S. paper. Large three box lot of mostly U.S. post cards.

Blown deep green set of Bristol wines. Pressed and cut glass tableware. Better American Indian pottery, including signed Silviera. WOODENWARE AND BASKETS: 35 in. Asian diplomat’s 19th c. walking stick with carved indian head handhold and carved initials of fellow diplomats. Rare form 26 1/2 x 15 x 2 in. deep splint center-handle basket. 16 in. diam. 19th c. wooden bowl containing painted portrait of young woman.
